Our 1st Committee Meeting :)

Today, we had our first official meeting as a committee! Even though one of our members, Yun Jing isn't in Singapore, she still joined us virtually ;) Full force, yay!

Looking around, these are the people whom we will be spending a lot of time with over the next few months, and in the distant future, 2-3 weeks in Laos? So, it's really important for us to start this right and build on team bonding for the betterment in the long run!

After rounds of self-introduction, it was Ice breaker time!!! In the lecture theatre we were in, pieces of papers were hidden and we're suppose to find these pieces and piece it all together. We literally searched for it high and low - at the exit sign above doors, under the table etc. It was important that we kept each other in checks of the areas that has been covered and which has not. Also, a few of us stationed ourselves at the front to slowly complete the puzzle.

Ta-dah!!! The final piece - Volunteering. This subject speaks to all of us in one way or another. Afterall, our project is centred on doing volunteerism.

We were presented with a brief outline of the project and introduces to our respective sub-committees. There are 4 sub-committees - Marketing & Publicity, Programs, Fundraising and Admin. We managed to have a short discussion on our upcoming event - Halloween (excited!!!).

During the meeting, we also wrote snail mails that will be sent to ourselves in 6 months time - at which then we will probably be at our Overseas Service Learning Project location. What would you like to say to the you in 6 months? What are some of the things you would like to accomplish over the next 6 months?

We concluded the meeting with a celebration for the October babies :)
